Side by Side Experiment with Wild West Worms vs. Big Box Brand
Week One
This photograph was taken one week after transplant. The Wild West Worms plant on the left recovered from shock associated with the transplant much quicker. Plant color and hardiness are clearly better in the Wild West Worms plant.
Both tomato plants came from cuttings of similar size and of the same variety. The plant on the left is planted in Wild West Worms custom potting mix which includes Wild West Worms castings and watered with Wild West Worms tea. The image on the right is planted in a big box brand of potting soil and provided with regular tap water.

Week Two
These photographs were taken two weeks after transplant. No visible signs of transplant shock exist on the Wild West Worms plant on the left. The big box plant continues to have discolored yellow leaves and growth is substantially slower.
Week Three
The difference in growth, color, and hardiness is obvious. Both plants are watered weekly. The Wild West Worms plant on the left receives approximately 3 quarts of Wild West Worms Tea and the big box plant on the right receives approximately 3 quarts of tap water. Moisture retention is substantially higher with the Wild West Worms potting mix with very little liquid draining through the bottom. Noticeable water drains through the big box soil and is soaked up and/or evaporated from the drip tray throughout the week.
Week Four
The Wild West Worms plant on the left is dominating over the Big Box Brand on the right.
Week 5
The plant grown in Wild West Worms soil continues to thrive and outperform the plant grown in Big Box soil.
Week 6
The plant grown in Wild West Worms soil is twice the size of the plant grown in Big Box soil. Noticeably bigger in every aspect - taller, thicker stalk, more foliage, and hardier appearance.
What is Vermicompost?

Vermicompost is the product of earthworm digestion and aerobic decomposition using the activities of micro- and macroorganisms at room temperature. Vermicomposting, or worm composting, produces a rich organic soil amendment commonly called “castings”. Worm castings contain a diversity of nutrients and beneficial microorganisms that provide numerous benefits to plants and soil. While adding fertilizer will feed your plants, adding worm castings will feed your soil providing foundational benefits for gardeners and farmers at every level.
